Marc Márquez’s Sprint at the French Grand Prix came to a sudden and dramatic end. As the Ducati rider fought to climb back into the Top 5 after a challenging start, he suffered a heavy crash just two laps from the finish at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans, specifically at the raccordement corner.
The entry into this tricky turn has posed significant difficulties for several riders throughout the weekend, and Márquez was no exception as he lost the front of his bike. The machine was left in ruins, and Márquez landed hard, striking his head. His leg took a severe impact as well. Although he managed to get up, he was noticeably limping and, once in the paddock, was unable to put weight on his injured foot.
Prior to this incident, the Spaniard was already enduring a tough Sprint. Starting second on the grid behind Francesco Bagnaia, he quickly dropped several places before gradually regaining pace as the race progressed.
This crash capped off a difficult Saturday for the eight-time world champion, who now hopes for a swift recovery ahead of tomorrow’s Grand Prix at Le Mans, where rain is predicted.
